Alien noodle meatball foodstuff

We did this a while ago. I got the idea from a picture online of hotdogs cut up and speared with spaghetti noodles, and then boiled. And then it looks like the noodles are crawling right out of the hotdogs! But we used meatballs.

First make the meatballs and let them cool for handling, and then spear them.

Use a big pot, or boil them just a few at a time. You can see how unwieldy ...

Now boil them just long enough to soften the noodles. (In a separate pot, boil the rest of the spaghetti.)

The crawly effect looks better without the sauce, but it's tastier with.
